Do you long to do something creative with your new spouse? If so, why not opt to find your inner artists during a Maui honeymoon? There are plenty of artistic venues located within driving distance of our oceanfront suites, including the Island Art Party in Kihei. It’s situated inside of the Azeka II Shopping Mall and within close distance to the south side of the island’s beaches, restaurants and wildlife conservation district.
What makes the Island Art Party an experience worthy of a bridal couple’s consideration is the way its set up. The two to three hour art classes take place inside a charming venue complete with its own bar, free popcorn and music. Plus, all of the art supplies and instruction couples need to find their inner artist are included in the price.
We’d suggest planning on arriving at the venue around 1 p.m. and leaving around supper time. If you want to make a day of it, consider stopping at Kalama Beach Park prior to the art class. Located off of South Kihei Road, it features inspiring views of the ocean, beach access, an outdoor whale sculpture, recreation and picnic areas. And don’t worry, outdoor showers and public restrooms are onsite too. So you can clean up before class.
After class, you may want to swing by one of the area’s restaurants for dinner and drinks. There are several in the area that may appeal to those enjoying a Maui honeymoon. One that is located right on South Kihei Road is Sarento’s on the Beach. They typically run a daily happy hour from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. that includes craft brews from the island’s own, award winning brewery. Of course there is also wine, well drinks, domestic and imported beers on the menu too.
