Maui Food Trucks Near Maui Kai
After a day out exploring, enjoy a quick bite at a selection of popular food trucks near our entrance. Each has a distinct island vibe and features local flavors and fresh ingredients. It’s a great way to experiment and try delicious food at great prices. Attire is beach casual and the fun starts daily at 5pm and trucks are open until 9pm.
Kaanapali Beach Restaurants
Duke’s Beach House
(130 Kai Malina Parkway)
Start with a great name like Hawaii renowned surf legend and Aloha ambassador Duke Kahanamoku who this restaurant honors. Then feast on Hawaiian influenced dishes served in an open-air setting, while your eyes feast on spectacular Maui sunsets right from your table. You may see Maui whales too as you dine under tiki torches enjoying the nostalgic Old Hawaii ambiance. Located at the Honua Kai Resort, Duke’s serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch and features live music. Open 8am-9pm.
Maui Brewing Company

If you are a craft beer lover, a visit to Maui Brewing Company’s brewpub just up the road in Kahana, is a must. Brewery-To-Table Dining using as many local products as possible, even the ketchup and mustard are housemade. Known worldwide for quality and innovation, this Maui based brewery operates 100% in Hawaii. A wide selection of both season beers and year round staples are available by the glass or choose to taste several with a flight. Not a beer drinker? Try their all natural handcrafted Island Root Beer. Happy Hour 3:30pm-5:30pm. Monday – Saturday 11:30am-10:00pm
Pizza Paradiso

Classically-trained chef Paris Nabavi opened his Maui pizzeria to provide a menu packed with healthy options powered by fresh, organic, and local ingredients whenever possible. That was back in 1995 at Whalers Village. While the location has changed to Honokowai Marketplace, the quality remains and the award winning menu now also includes Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern favorites.
Gourmet thin crust pizza options include Gluten-free crust, vegetarian options plus local beef raised on Maui by the Maui Cattle company. Vegetables and herbs are locally sourced. Its signature pizza was voted Best of Maui three times by readers of Maui News. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm.

Oceanfront splendor awaits you at Kapalua Resort and Farm to Table cuisine with an emphasis on regional Hawaii flavors. Its prix fixe menu, served on an open-air lanai, features line-caught ahi poke and a variety of macadamia nut-filled dishes. Its menu is complemented by an impressive list of wines, cocktails, and beers. Dinner is served from 4pm to 8:30pm daily. Honokowai Okazuya and Deli
(3600 Lower Honoapiilani Road, Suite D, Kaanapali)
Located a few miles north of Kaanapali Beach, is a great spot to grab a classic Hawaii lunch. Mahi-mahi with lemon and capers, kung pao chicken and seafood with black bean sauce are just some of the local favorites here, which also boasts plenty of vegetarian options. Order your food to go and enjoy a delicious meal on your favorite Maui Beach.
JavaJazz
(3350 Lower Honoapiilani Road, No. 204)
This eclectic spot is one of a kind. Established as a coffee shop in 1998 it has expanded over the years to include a full service restaurant, bar and evening music venue.
Head to JavaJazz for superb blends of Hawaiian coffee, wide offering of breakfast items or coconut shrimp and a kalua pork sandwich at lunchtime. Fine dining begins at 5pm. Dinner menu includes seafood and pasta entrees including catch of the day and the Signature Trio of fresh ono, shrimp and scallops sautéed in the house sauce. Have a late dinner or stop by for dessert and enjoy live music from 7pm-10pm nightly. Open daily 6am-10pm.

Hula Grill and Barefoot Bar
(2435 Kaanapali Parkway, Building P1)
Hula Grill promises local ingredients including fresh fish, Maui-grown vegetables and natural meats “inspired by local fishermen, farmers and ohana.” Oh, and plenty of alcoholic beverages to pair with diners’ fish tacos and crab wontons. The grill’s extensive list of cocktails is topped by the iconic mai tai, of course. But the barefoot bar also offers its own “high-end version” of the classic tiki drink, known as the akamai tai. It’s a dizzying blend of toasted coconut rum, amaretto and fresh pineapple and lime juices, shaken with a dark rum float. Delicious. Open from 11am to 8:45pm daily.
Merriman’s Monkeypod Kitchen
(Whalers Village)
A great Happy Hour (3:30pm to 5:00pm) with their unique Mai Tai served with a foam topping made with house-made liliko’i syrup. A Merriman restaurant. Open daily from 11am to 10pm.
Roy’s Kaanapali
(2290 Kaanapali Parkway, Suite A)
James Beard Award-winning chef Roy Yamaguchi offers mouth-watering meals served at tables overlooking the 18th hole of the Kaanapali Golf Course. Stop by to catch a West Maui sunset with drinks lifted from Roy’s happy hour menu, which pairs $5 bites like ahi poke and crisped calamari with Maui Brewing Company beers, wine by the glass and Yamaguchi’s own Hawaiian martini with infused pineapple. Open from 11am to 9pm daily.
Sea House
(Napili Kai Resort, 5900 Lower Honoapiilani Rd)
Happy Hour is 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Enjoy the beach and then your favorite drink on the Sea House lanai. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. A gorgeous spot to enjoy a great meal and watch the Maui sunset. Restaurant is open from 7am to 9pm daily.
Leilani’s On The Beach

Here’s another Kaanapali Beach restaurant with plenty of ocean views. Leilani’s beach bar menu has plenty of cocktails, mocktails, wines and Hawaii beer on tap, all ready to be paired with small bites, salads, award-winning fresh fish tacos and more. Open from 11am to 9pm daily.

Slappy Cakes Maui
(3350 Lower Honoapiilani Road, No. 701)
This breakfast and brunch spot, found just half a mile from our Maui Kai vacation rentals, invites guests to make their own gourmet pancakes using griddles built into each dining table.
However, flipping pancakes is thirsty work, so be sure to imbibe at least one of Slappy Cakes’ signature craft cocktails. These include spins on familiar brunch favorites like the Bloody Mary and screwdriver, as well as several takes on the mimosa. Open from 7am to 12pm daily.
The Gazebo
(5315 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Outrigger Napili Shores)
A “famous” breakfast location on Napili Bay. Very casual and affordable. Our favorites are the macadamia pancakes with coconut syrup and fried rice combo. Some days you are lucky enough to see turtles and whales during the winter season. Open from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm daily.
