4 Fantastic Food Trucks Located Near Our Maui Condos in Lahaina

All of the recent talk about upcoming special events has put food trucks at the top of our minds. They are one of the many ways to enjoy a remarkable repast within reasonable proximity of our Maui condos. And there are quite a few food trucks on the island to choose from as well. Here’s a nibble size look at some of our favorites:

Starstruck (Kupuohi Street in the Star Noodle Parking Lot)

If you love noodles and Pacific Rim foods, you are going to do back flips over Star Noodle. They have an amazing menu that includes everything from steamed pork buns, hapa ramen, pohole salads and fried soup to organic buckwheat soba. Many visitors also seem to enjoy the rib-eye, yakitori and saimin.

Shark Pit Maui (Lower Honopiilani Hwy by China Boat Restaurant)

Looking for a food truck that is highly rated on Yelp and other similar sites? Then don’t miss a stop at the Shark Pit. They serve the most amazing funked up fish tacos, paniolo crunch burgers, corn-on-the-cob and crispy onion rings. Given the incredibly high quality of the food, the prices are reasonable too. (Note: Shark Pit is moving location and is currently closed.)

Nobu’s Lunch Wagon (Behind Pizza Hut, off Hinau St., in the Napa parking lot)

If you have a hankering for hot, expertly prepared beef stew, head for Nobu’s Lunch Wagon. Run by Chef Nobu, it’s the bright pink truck with the amazing aromas coming out of it. He often serves combo, regular and lunch plate specials that include your choice of salad, mac and cheese or rice. Other foods to try are his shoyu chicken and chicken curry.

808 Plates Maui (Lahainaluna Road and Wainee Street)

Are you longing for seafood dishes like garlic shrimp and ahi katsu? Then we’d suggest trying 808 Plates Maui. It’s a popular food truck that serves seafood and more. The “more” often consists of great entrees like Korean chicken and Kalua pig with cabbage.
