Maui golf courses are known for being the best anywhere. When you stay at Maui Kai, you are only a 12-minute drive between the celebrated Plantation and Bay courses at Kapalua Golf and the popular Kaanapali Golf Courses. Other places to golf on Maui are within an hour’s drive and include Wailea and some top notch public greens. Each of these complements our spectacular Maui beaches and leads to an outstanding Maui vacation.
Named the top golf course in Hawaii by Golf Week Magazine, the Plantation was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore and the Bay by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane. The Plantation course is home to the PGA Tour’s Tournament of Champions. It is one of the toughest on Maui with twists, turns and monster drives. The Plantation’s signature 18th is the PGA Tour’s longest at 663 yards. The Bay will excite all abilities and has uninterrupted ocean views and gentle rolling fairways. It features the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui and is host to over 20 professional tournaments.
Choose between the Royal Kaanapali or the Kaanapali Kai for your next Maui golf adventure. Best specials are for twilight golf at 1:00pm. The Royal was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and is the most challenging of the two. Kaanapali Kai has spectacular views of the ocean, Lanai and Molokai.
A trio awaits you at the Emerald, Gold or Old Blue. Each one is unique and all have views of the ocean and Haleakala Crater. Gold is the most difficult and considered the, “thinking player’s course.” Legendary Old Blue is the first course that put Wailea on the map. It is golfer friendly and features tees for women that are well forward of the men’s. Emerald is frequently honored as one of the best for women by Golf Digest and the most scenic of the three.
